My Vision

My Mission

The vision I have for my life, both on a personal and professional level, is the same one I hope to accomplish with this blog, and that is to educate and engage people in marine science (in particular my favorite subject, sharks).

Science and research are key components of our society, yet scientific topics are often seen as boring, difficult or irrelevant to our daily lives. With this website I hope to share my experience and journey as a young researcher, while making science interesting and approachable to everyone.

My aim is to inspire people to care and learn more about our oceans, I hope to motivate people to protect it.

The mission I have for this website is for it to be an insider’s peek into the life of a researcher, a glass mirror on which the life of a scientist is reflected, a place where to document the adventures of a marine biologist, a space to inspire scientific curiosity in people.

In this website I hope to share the many aspects of my life that are related to the ocean, such as my experiences in the field, my  travels to beautiful beaches and tropical islands around the world, as well as a collection of recipes, pictures and stories about seafood from a variety of international cuisines.

Join me on the roller coaster that is doing shark research as a woman, latina and millennial!
